Lumos works to help the millions of children in institutions worldwide regain their right to a family.

Nerder Mysteries has been working with LUMOS to raise funds and awareness for this great cause. Our Doctor Who-Dunnit show raised about $1000 and our Harry Potter show raised over $1000, all for Lumos. In 2016 Nerder Mysteries partnered with The Doctor Who LA convention, Gallifrey One and through their silent auction, helped raise over $11,000 that was donated directly to Lumos.

No child should be denied a family life because they are poor, disabled or from an ethnic minority. Lumos works to support the 8 million children in institutions worldwide to regain their right to a family life and to end the institutionalisation of children.

More than 90% are NOT orphans. Most have families who love and want them!

8 million children worldwide are living in institutions because they are poor, disabled or from an ethnic minority. This is a serious problem, on a massive scale, but there is a solution. Lumos works in partnership with governments, professionals and carers, communities, families and children, to transform outdated systems that drive families apart. Together with our partners we replace institutions with community based services that provide children with access to health, education and social care tailored to their individual needs. This supports families to provide the loving care their children need to develop to their full potential and build a positive future for themselves.

Donating to Lumos Foundation USA and Lumos helps Lumos to transform the lives of children living in institutions. Lumos pledges that 100% of donations received in both the UK and the USA will go directly towards funding their programs. To find out more about the 100% pledge click here.
